Born April 20, 1951, Luther Vandross became one of the all-time great soul and R&B singers, songwriters, and record producers. Throughout his career, he achieved eleven consecutive RIAA-certified platinum albums and sold over 40 million records worldwide. Known as the "Velvet Voice", Vandross has been recognized as one of the 200 greatest singers of all time by Rolling Stone, as well as one of the greatest R&B artists by Billboard In addition, NPR named him one of the 50 Great Voices. 

On April 28 City Winery Pittsburgh celebrates the legendary Luther Vandross with a special birthday celebration featuring Wayne Barber and friends performing an incredible set that showcases the R&B icon's musical legacy, including hits like "Never Too Much," "Stop To Love," "Bad Boys," "A House is Not A Home," "If Only For One Night," "So Amazing" and many more of the songs that made up the soundtrack of your life.
