The Silencers - Live in 25
City Winery Pittsburgh presents The Silencers - Live in 25 live on Saturday, January 18th, 2024 at 7:00 PM!
Pittsburgh's The Silencers were a premiere new wave band in the early 80s, with the honor of having their video played in the first hour of MTV. The band had a number of hits like ""Shiver and Shake"", ""Remote Control"", ""Sidewalk Romeo"", ""Head on Collision"" and their reworking of ""Peter Gunn Theme."" City Winery Pittsburgh were happy to host these rock pioneers for their 45th Anniversary show, and ready to have them Live in 25 on January 18th. Make your plans to catch these Pittsburgh Legends, and come early to enjoy world-class wine and our pairing menu at your venue table before the show.
Frank Czuri's track record as a Pittsburgh vocalist is unparalleled, but it is his 5-year stint as lead singer and co-songwriter for The Silencers that would cement his place in Pittsburgh rock history. He and his talented bandmates -- Bryan Bassett, Frank Czuri, Ronnie “Byrd” Foster, Michael John Harbadin, Warren King, and Dennis Takos -- electrified audiences across the U.S. with their raucous covers, as well as unique, original material that combined rock, New Wave, R&B, soul, and reggae. They released two major-label albums, three singles, and an award-winning video that MTV aired on the very day of its network premiere. Billboard Magazine said of the Silencers' debut LP Rock'n'Roll Enforcers: ""The Silencers are armed with a hard hitting debut. Fronted by the aggressive vocals of Frank Czuri...the Silencers show an amazing command of rock history…This is slashing rock which goes for the jugular."
