City Winery Pittsburgh Presents: Velvet Heart Burlesque Live on Stage on August 19th at 8pm

The Velvet Hearts! are one of the premier, long-standing burlesque variety troupes in the “Rust Belt” of the Northeast U.S. Founded in 2008 by Viva Valezz!, her Velvet Hearts! are an impressive group of queer burlesque, drag, and sideshow performers from both Columbus, OH, Pittsburgh, PA and now Cleveland, OH. In 2010, Valezz! was voted Columbus’ Favorite Burlesque Performer. In 2011, the Velvet Hearts! were nominated by Columbus Alive! Magazine as Ohio’s Best Dance Company – the FIRST and ONLY burlesque troupe EVER to be nominated! Viva! and her Velvet Hearts! have performed in large festivals such as the New York Burlesque Festival, the Boston Burlesque Expo, the Windy City Burlesque Festival, Chicago’s Queerpocolypse, and the Fierce! International Queer Burlesque Festival. And, most recently, the Velvet Hearts! won the 2017 National Lip Sync Championship, performing in Denver, CO, beating burlesque variety troupes from every state.
